My wife and I had just purchased a 2007 Honda accord so we took it to a Honda dealership here in Indianapolis for a check up. They said everything was good except the rack was "leaking internally" and that we should probably replace the fluid pump as well. The repair would be about $2600.00. That seemed a bit high to me so I got a second opinion at a national chain repair shop. They agreed with the Honda shop about what was needed but also said we should replace the tie rods as well at a cost of $2036.00. I said ok. Left the car on a Sunday for the work to be done on Monday. When I called on Monday to check on the progress of the repair, I was told they hadn't touched it because the original tech was not in that day. I was dumbfounded by the poor service and went and claimed the car. Back to square one. I found Honest 1 care on the internet and set an appointment. The store was very clean. The owner, Deirdre Shanklin greeted me kindly and her pros got right to work. They put the Accord on the lift and we looked at the underside together. There was no sign of any leak. In fact I believe the mechanic said it was one of the cleanest underbodies he had ever seen. They gave me their blessings and a free cookie and I went on my way. Their inspection had been at no charge. I had paid $120.00 at Honda and $22.00 at the other national shop. I told Deirdre that they would be servicing all our cars from now on. As I drove home I wondered how much money I have wasted on unnecessary auto repairs through the years and thanked my lucky stars that I had finally met that illusive person, the truly honest business owner. Actually, this is simple to write about. My car's A/C wasn't producing cool air, so I brought it to Honest-1. They added coolant, and now I get cool air from the vents. The service was fairly quick, and the price was reasonable.

They completed the diagnostic and decided that we needed a new Shift Sensor for the transmission. We live 2 hours away, so they called us Saturday morning and said the truck was running great with the new sensor. We sent a friend to pick the truck up, and it didn't make it 10 minutes down the road! Took it to another shop and learned that the radiator had leaked in the transmission, so the WHOLE TRANSMISSION was toast. Asked for a refund for the sensor that obviously wasn't going to help a destroyed transmission. She refused saying she "didn't promise that it would fix the problem". She said 2 mechanics drove it and said it was running great. 10 minutes later, the transmission failed completely. They obviously don't know what they are doing and refused to admit a mistake. STAY AWAY! Sadly, I chose this location because we have an Honest A-1 in Cincinnati that I love and trust completely.

I come here regularly for my oil changes and maintenance. The staff have always been kind, courteous, and helpful. I would highly recommend this location to anyone. 😁
