As their first business, Keith and Deirdre Shanklin, bought the Honest-1 Franchise in October 2015.
Keith has a degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and has been utilizing that degree in the construction industry as a Senior Project Manager for over 20 years. He was on the project to build the Conseco Fieldhouse (now Bankers Life Fieldhouse), the Lucas Oil Stadium, and the Fed Ex expansion at the Indianapolis Airport. These are just a few of the multi-million dollar projects he’s had the opportunity to work on. Today, Keith is a facilitator for Center for Leadership and Development
From her first job as a cashier at Burger King, to Bank Teller, to 401K Processor at American Funds, to her most recent job as a Preschool Teacher at Geist Christian Church, Deirdre has 40 years of customer service experience.
Keith has always wanted to own his own business and after careful research he and Deirdre choose the Honest-1 Franchise because of the proven processes and success. With so many cars on the road, Keith felt the auto care industry was recession proof. Meaning people will always need their cars worked on to be able to get from point A to point B. As a bonus, they both like the name of the franchise, because they pride themselves on being honest people. It’s important to Keith and Deirdre to keep Honest-1 Auto Care Shadeland Station Eco-friendly, and women and kid friendly. Their shop is the home of the honest mechanic!
